Can you say: cloy-zuhn-NAY?  Sure sounds like French to me, and it's usually spelled with the final e marked with a French acute (think of it as a right-leaning accent mark).  I haven't figured out how to incorporate the -AY sound acute sign above the e, so please bear with me and just pretend it's there.
As the saleslady is explaining, cloisonne is an art form that originated in Beijing around 1300 AD.
