| We were in Beijing, trying to meet our guide at Tiananmen Square before entering the Forbidden City. But the Square was closed for the day because of a state visit by the new president of Russia. That's why the Russian and Chinese flags were flying. Thank goodness for cell phones, because we were able to change our rendezvous on the fly and proceed. | |||||||||||||||
