| The Chinese are no slouches when it comes to marketing. Yes, that does say "Merry Christmas" over the doorway to the department store next to my apartment. | tall 125-pound Chinese who used no belly padding. I think the belt was wrapped around him at least twice. The other day when I made my daily visit to the food store to pick up something to cook for dinner, "Frosty the Snowman" was playing over the loudspeaker system--yes, in English--followed by an entire medley of Christmas tunes. I chuckled to myself when I heard some Chinese singing along to themselves. Moments like these are when I don't feel that far away from home. And when I appreciate that we humans are just one big family. |
