I've avoided like the plague McDonald's, KFC, Pizza Hut, StarBucks, and all the other US franchises that I see everywhere, but I didn't walk past this McDonald's ice cream stand without stopping like these three students are doing. My co-worker Fish and I were in Jinan on Monday of this week.  Qingdao is in Shandong Province, and Jinan is the provincial capital.  Fish tells me there are these little McDonald's ice cream stands in Qingdao also, but I've never noticed one.  I told Fish I wanted to stop because ice cream made me think of my family. Fish and I had taken the high-speed train from Qingdao to Jinan, and I plan to milk this trip for several more postings after I've waded through the 700-some pictures I took that day.
