Broadband internet and satellite TV offering HBO but never tuned to anything but BBC world news.  Actually, Cincinnati's radio station streaming live over the internet featuring National Public Radio is almost always playing in the background when I'm in the apartment.  I turn the chair toward the window for my morning coffee.  You'll see that view on the next page.  The golden statue atop my bookshelf is of

Kwan Yin, the Buddhist Goddess of Mercy.  It was blessed by a monk and given to me by a

friend when he moved to Singapore.  And

that's my table with bottles of beer and water on the right.
