It's A Boy BACK TO DATE PAGE
Jim's wife just had a baby boy, and yesterday was his first day back at work.  He brought some two dozen hard-boiled chicken eggs for our lunch.  I learned that this is the traditional way to celebrate a birth.  Gracie pointed out that chicken eggs are somewhat red, which is the celebratory color in China.  Being a typically salt-addicted American in this salt-avoidant country, I've had to learn to enjoy what chicken eggs really taste like all by themselves.  I didn't think to take this picture until we'd almost finished eating.  That's Cherry, Cheechee's mom, on the right.  The three empty serving dishes had held octopus with chives, steamed green peppers, and scrambled chicken eggs with spinach.

I'd told my co-workers about Easter eggs earlier in the meal.
