				I was talking with a Chinese friend the day after Lantern Festival.  She said that her mother-in-law had become quite upset the previous evening when she had found a light out in the bathroom.  No energy conservation for her on Lantern Festival!  It turns out that, by tradition, all lights throughout the house must be brightly lit to drive out everything bad and to invite in everything good for the New Year.
