| So here I am--off to Laoshan on my own--which means no communication ability--but even I could figure out what it meant to be the last person on the bus when the bus conductor told me it was the end of the run and time to get off. I should've figured it was time to rent a taxi--there were many waiting there--but I was on my own and I didn't know how to say where I wanted to go. I stared at the ticket lady, she stared back, did I have a car, no, ok, go ahead. so I walked on. And on, and on. |
