New Year's Eve Day
I had the honor of spending New Year's Eve Day with a Chinese family.  I was invited to arrive at 10 o'clock in the morning, which would give them time to have cleaned the apartment from top to bottom that morning--part of the traditional preparation for the celebration.
One of the few things that we correctly have learned about China is that they honor their ancestors.

Here is the paternal family tree displayed prominently as a shrine.

The deceased paternal grandmother is named at the bottom on the left and the deceased paternal grandfather is named at the bottom on the right.
