Old Jinan

Qingdao is in Shandong Province and has a population of 7 million.  Jinan is the capital of Shandong Province and has a population of 5.5 million.  Qingdao's growth has been relatively recent.  Jinan, in contrast, is one of the birthplaces of Chinese civilization with cultural relics going back 7000 years.  As you will recall, Fish and I took the high-speed train to Jinan not too long ago.  It was by pure chance that we chose to walk down the street featured here, but it was a walk into the past.
