I took this picture just before 6 PM at a bus station on the major east-west road through the downtown business district. I had walked to this bus stop from my apartment and was waiting to meet my Chinese tutor and her husband to celebrate her birthday over dinner at a special restaurant.
I take the bus to and from work every day, but I face nothing like this, probably because I travel at off-peak times and by a less important route.
But I have been on a bus on Sunday afternoon in the heart of the shopping district and had to push my way off. My pushing and shoving didn't seem to phase anyone though, probably because we were all doing the same thing.
