				You'd think that would be my line, but it wasn't. This goes back to when Fish and I were traveling south of Shanghai in early December. We're at a bus station. And this young lady spots me from across the terminal and rushes up to practice her English. She is the only person who has approached me in this manner, and that surprises me a little, but I guess it takes a certain moxy to approach strange foreigners and speak their language.
		Whatever it takes, she had it, and our conversation helped pass the time until her bus left. Chance encounters can be fleeting but have lasting impact.
